Critical Appraisal...

If we want to do a research or want to know about something scientically,, we’re going to search some books or journals that related to the topics we’re looking for. Many people thinks that a good research has a lot of article references in list of libraries at the back of research report. But, that’s not always true. If we want to pick an article or some articles to strengthen our hypothesis, do critical appraisal first to make sure that the article is quite feasible. So what’s critical appraisal??
Critical appraisal is the process of systematically examining research evidence to assess its validity, results, and relevance before using it to inform a decision 1. Critical appraisal attempts to identify the strengths and weaknesses of pieces of information, often research literature, so that readers may apply that information within the limits identified2. Usually we examine about what is the problem that researcher wants to study, what is the aim of the study, what kind of method did the researcher choose, how about the statistical analysis of the report, etc. It seems difficult,, but you should try,, it’s interesting. And the point is you would know “is it a good reports? Or so-so?”

i think there's an misunderstanding about the meaning of journal. Exactly, what you call as "journal" is an article. A Journal is very very different with an article. An journal is a book that consist of some articles. So, an article is part of a journal. Many students is always wrong and can not discriminate the differences between article and journal.
